Radiohead + Google = Brilliant

Late last week, i caught the rumblings here and there of the new Radiohead video, created using nothing but laser-based data imaging. not a camera in sight. The screenshots that popped up here and there were beautiful, if not surreal.

Well, the video finally showed up today, as part of an integrated tie-in with Google. Color me shocked. Is google getting in on the online music promotion gig? The content is really intriguing, what with customizable skins for your igoogle homepage (i believe this is the first time they've had sponsored/branded skins).

At the same time, i could easily see this being a one-off done simply for the fact that [i'm sure] the employees of google are probably huge radiohead fans.

Radiohead Remixes

So. Below, you're going to find two different remixes of Radiohead's work. But They're not downloadable tracks, etc, just some interesting thing's i've stumbled across.

The first (Aural), is the new track from Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip (of Thou Shalt Always Kill fame) - called A Letter to Man from God. It's pretty intriguiging, mostly for the vocals placed over the track, less for the underlying radiohead remix - at least for my tastes.

The second (Visual), is something I found a loooooooong time ago - a Anime video someone made for My Iron Lung. It was actualy thanks to this video that I found out about one of the most incredible anime series I've known - FLCL (or furi kuri; or Foolie Coolie). I mean, c'mon - the weapons in the series are GUITARS. So cool. so yeah, two quickies for you today.

Also, no currently watching, as i'm still running through the season of The Dresden Files they put up yesterday on hulu.com. Word.

No TV, so this is how I roll.

So, if you've been reading, you'll notice i try to post a video with everything. And, that's because I haven't got TV here at home. But the crafty online denzien finds plenty of ways to get around that. My personal fav is Hulu.com. I'm lucky enough to have been using the site since it was in beta, so i've had a lot of fun digging around, finding awesome new stuff, or horrible bad stuff hiding in the wings.

For example - did you know they made a TV show out of the movie Tremors? I LOVED that movie since i was a kid, and when i found the TV show hidden on hulu, i was truly awed at just how awesome/shit-poor the show was. Complete with Michael Gross still involved, but none of the other originals. gee, y'think Kevin Bacon was too busy?

But also, this month Hulu has been doing a new premier everyday, whether it's a new season of a tv show, or a new movie, and the selections have been prety great. New seasons of "It's always sunny in Philadelphia" (a new fav), movies like Ghostbusters, etc etc. it kinda rules. helps spend the time with at the very least, semi-regular high-quality viewing.

I'm also a fan of CBS.com's "TV classics" section - where you can find episodes of MacGuyver, and the original Star Trek (i'm a DS9 fan myself).

Another classic Bloc Party track... but there's one lyric in there that i can't quite make out... the first word is either "everyone" or "everything", then goes on to "does not relate to williamsburg"... i think the brits might be pissed. can ya blame'em?

So. I started this blog as a way for me to get my thoughts out. Out of the ol' noggin' and well, just out. But i find myself having a hard time putting anything down. I've got thoughts for various rants and raves, yet can't get myself to put them down. Just keeping them in the head. Is that where i live more than not?

Or do i just need a deadline?

Why not start a blog? i've got nothing bu time on my hands right now - so i thought i'd stick to some of th things that i love, one of which includes writing.

Who knows what'll find it's way here? but one can expect to see posts on a variety of topics, included music, fashion, and just how damn bored i am.
